The KI Martial Arts system came from the East and the West.

The name “KI” means energy, power and life force. We can receive true power, courage, love and wisdom from learning and teaching about “KI”. The name chosen by Head Master Sin Seok Jeong who is the owner. He has been in Korean Martial Arts since 6 years old and graduated from one of the best Martial Arts colleges in Korea and has a Masters degree in Martial Arts from Amerstate University, Wisconsin. In Korea, Master Jeong trained with the World Tae Kwon Do Federation for the Olympics, World Competitions and Kukkiwon (the World TKD HQ) for certification and seminars.

Master Jeong not only brought Tae KwonDo with him one of the best Korean Martial Arts systems, but also Hap Ki Do and Yong Mu Do. Master Jeong came to the United States in 1997, and in 2000 opened KI Martial Arts school with his wife Melissa who helped grow it into what it is today.

Since KI Martial Arts was established, it grew ties with the Chicago Martial Arts Association which is the largest group of Martial Arts Instructors in IL, US Yong In University Alumni Association, US Yong Mu Do Association and Amerstate University.

The Martial Arts Industry in America has changed a lot since Master Jeong came here from Korea. For instance KI  Martial Arts offers an after school program, summer camps and many different events and services for students. KI Martial Arts after school and Summer Camp programs are very educational, safe, challenging, convenient, and fun.

Having a Tae Kwon Do major in Korea is very popular but also hard to achieve. Many people enroll in Tae Kwon Do classes because it has a reputation of having a very good value for children.

The benefits of Martial Arts can be achieved by children and adults alike. The mental benefits are as great as the physical gains that one can achieve at KI Martial Arts.

Children will learn discipline and respect for others as well for themselves. The level of self-confidence will rise as each personal achievement is met. We teach and emphasize respect for others, manners and self-discipline all in an environment that is positive, safe and fun.

Whether your child has been referred by a pediatrician for balance or focus issues, we will instruct, teach and guide your child into an improved state of being.

We hope that all of our members enjoy Ki Martial Arts school and we are happy to see all of you in class!!
